  • Dr.
    Ali Abbas
    Chiropractor


    Dr Ali Abbas is a registered Chiropractor serving the Auckland community.

    Dr Ali Abbas is originally from Cape Town, South Africa and moved to Auckland in 2003. He then studied health science majoring in Anatomy at Otago University, Dunedin 2004-05 before moving back to Auckland to study Chiropractic at the prestigious New Zealand College of Chiropractic. He graduated with an award of Clinical Merit for high achievement in clinical practice, initially skeptical about chiropractic Dr Abbas has experienced remarkable improvement in lower back pain and coincidentally his own health after being plagued by constant allergies, sinus problems, frequent colds/flu’s and weight trouble which are all much improved since being adjusted. He has seen many patients’ health improve as a result of making improved lifestyle choices and being adjusted. Dr Abbas has a specialist interest in Scoliosis, Leg Length Inequality and Prescription Orthotics in relation to Pelvic and Spinal Alignment.

    Dr Ali Abbas uses a 'whole person approach'. This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any misalignments (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this unique approach, Dr Ali Abbas is able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.

  • Michael Botes
    Acupuncturist


    Michael holds a BSc in Health Science with Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. He is a registered provider with ACC and a member of AcuNZ.
    After studying Western Medicine, Michael did compulsory service in the navy as an officer as well as 15 years in the navy reserves. He is also a qualified
    Clinical Hypnotherapist and a certified NLP instructor.
    He brings to his practice all of his considerable life experience as well as a wealth of knowledge and a firm belief in treating the whole person, body, mind and spirit. This holistic approach serves his patients well.
    Outside of work, Michael enjoys being a grandfather and is a keen sailor.

  • Steve Suddens
    Physiotherapist

    Steve has been a practicing physiotherapist for over 15 years since graduating AUT with a Bachelor
    of Health Science/Physiotherapy from AUT in 2007, working exclusively in private practice since
    then.
    Steve has extensive experience in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions during all
    stages recovery from acute injury management to post-surgical rehabilitation.
    Steve has particular interest in exercise based rehabilitation for spinal and peripheral joint injuries
    and has postgraduate qualifications in sports medicine and strength and conditioning through AUT
    and the University of Otago.
    Outside of the clinic Steve also works a personal trainer working with rehab clients, competitive
    athletes and general fitness enthusiasts in the gym and has a close involvement with a number of
    sporting codes particularly combat sports including BJJ, Wrestling and MMA.

  • Shauna Hayden
    Physiotherapist


    Shauna holds a BSc. Physiotherapy from University College Dublin Ireland and is registered with the New Zealand Board of Physiotherapy. 

    Having been awarded the Mater Misericordiae Award for Clinical Excellence during her undergraduate placements, she went on to work in hospital and community settings, concentrating on elective orthopaedics and emergency spinal surgery rehab, alongside medical and respiratory physiotherapy. 

    Shauna is a STOTT trained pilates instructor , and as well as teaching in her spare time, incorporates many aspects of pilates training into her treatment sessions when appropriate. Having worked with the University rugby team during her degree, she developed a keen interest in the management of acute sporting injuries and return to play rehab. 

    As a physiotherapist, Shauna strongly believes in a holistic, patient centred approach to care and ensures that patient’s play an active role in their own journey to recovery.

    Outside of work Shauna is a keen hiker and a terrible but enthusiastic surfer who is taking advantage of New Zealand’s beautiful scenery whenever possible.

    Chiara Di Giovanni
    Chiropractor

    Chiara Di Giovanni studied chiropractic in Spain (at BCC) and in New Zealand, graduating as a chiropractor in Auckland from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic (NZCC). She has completed a post-graduate certification in sports chiropractic (ICSC, FICS). 

    She is particularly interested in sports chiropractic and previously worked on field with a rugby team in Auckland, while getting experience in several multidisciplinary chiropractic practices and has experience working as a missionary chiropractor in poverty stricken countries.

    Her main goal as a general and sports chiropractor is to provide care for everybody at any age and stage of life, and to help people achieving and maintaining wellness through their daily life.

    Chiara speaks fluent English, Spanish, Italian and basic French.
